Now Viktor Borro informed in the northeast of Namibia in the Caprivi lappet. This area was dominated by civil commotion. Because the school has no maps, he painted the world with chalk on the blackboard. Let the world spent the San enough space to life. >> A report from Yvonne Pickering << Victor is teaching at Ndoro Memoral School, Omega III, Western Caprivi. Omega III is between Divundu and Kongola and in an area where there are no telephone wires or radio signals. The community was very happy to see him return. I think they were a little worried that once he had graduated he would forget about them and apply for a job elsewhere. The majority of the community at Omega III are Khwe-speaking San. Victor is teaching Social Studies and Natural Sciences to Grades 5 to 7. He is also very keen on Human Movement (Physical Education) and is helping the school with that as well. The classes Victor teaches have between 37 and 42 children in them. Victor also has a strong interest in primary health care. The community does not have its own clinic and the mobile clinic only visits once in every two or three months. Victor is teaching geography with no maps, no globe and no text books. He is even waiting for his copy of the syllabus. The same situation applies with physical education - there are no balls or other equipment to enable games to be played. I am visiting the community in the middle of April to meet up with the Khwe Youth Groups. |
